Apratim Majumdar

Sarode virtuoso Apratim Majumdar (www.apratimmajumdar.com) is the most thinking and creative Sarod Player a composer of very special quality and a brilliant performer. Calcutta (India) based Sarod Player Apratim (born in 1978) was initially tutored and groomed by Prof Rabin Ghosh, disciple of Ustad Alauddin Khan in strict discipline and style of Senia Maihar Gharana. He also received training from Shree Partho Sarothy, disciple of Ustad Dhyanesh Khan and Pandit Ravi Shankar. Presently he is under training of Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, one of the senior most disciples of Pt. Ravi Shankar.

In the process of his prolonged dedicated training for over 28 years in traditional Dhrupadee Veenkar style of Senia Maihar Gharana he has developed a distinguished plying style of his own. Deeply steeped into tradition Apratim’s renditions are totally self improvised and meditative in nature.

Apratim is an empanelled artist of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Govt. of India was awarded “SUR MANI” Title by Sur Singar Samsad (Mumbai). He is recipient of JADUBHATTA AWARD(Kolkata) and NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLY AWARD (NEW YORK).At the moment being one of the busiest Artists he is performing through out India and regularly traveling on concert tour to Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Austria , Netherlands and USA.


Amit Chatterjee

Amit Chatterjee, a highly gifted Tabla player of India, is the nephew, adopted son and disciple of the famous internationally reputed Tabla Maestro Pandit Sankha Chatterjee. Since childhood Amit passed through rigorous training and practice and in the process he became a very special performer of Indian Drum (Tabla) His playing style is a wonderful confluence of Farukkabad Gharana (Ustad Karamatullah Khan) and Punjab Gharana ( Ustad Allarakha Khan).

Amit is an empaneled artist of Indian Council of Cultural Relations(ICCR) and was awarded “TAL MANI” Title by “Sur Singar Samsad” (Mumbai), NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLY AWARD. Being one of the busiest Indian Artist of his generation Amit has traveled throughout India, Europe, and the USA.
