Come join us at the Chhandayan Center for an evening performance Carnatic violin music performed by Siddarth Ashokkumar accompanied by Sriram Raman on Mridangam. The concert will also be streamed live.


Siddarth Ashokkumar

Siddharth Ashokkumar is a violinist and music educator based in Brooklyn, New York. He is a disciple of Sangita Kalanidhi Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan. Siddharth initially learned music in the US but has also traveled extensively through India to learn from disciples of the Lalgudi discipline, including Srinivasa Murthy and Sri Vittal Ramamurthy. He has performed for senior musicians, dance performances, and raga-based fusion ensembles both in India and North America.


Sriram Raman

Sriram Raman is a mridangist and teacher based in New York. He's a disciple of the mridangam maestro, Neyveli R. Narayanan. Sriram’s journey with the mridangam started in Chennai (South India) at age 6 under the tutelage of Sri. Thiruvadaimarudur Sankaran. In the USA, Sriram has accompanied several prominent Carnatic musicians in concert performances in Austin, Texas and New York City. Sriram is also a regular performer in the annual December season of Carnatic concerts held in Chennai, India.

Sriram also plays drums for the NY-based alternative rock band, Sepoy. Professionally, Sriram is a Senior Product Manager at Datadog and has had the privilege of working for some of the best technology firms in the world.
