Admission is open to all ages and levels. Individual attention is given to each student. Students learn basic to advanced techniques and compositions and receive relevant contextual information. They are also prepared for an annual recital usually held at the end of June. The 2024 recitals will be held on June 22nd at the Chhandayan Center for Indian Music, NYC and online on June 23rd.
Instrument: Students should set up or bring their own Tabla sets for the lessons. Tabla sets are also available for purchase from our store.
Dress Code: Casual, comfortable and descent.
All absence should be notified in advance.
Every student should come to the class with a designated notebook.
Semi-individual attention is paid to each student even in a group setting. There are no prerequisites to register. Technique, intonation, simple to advanced compositions in various talas (rhythm cycles) and layas (tempo) are taught together with essential information related to the subject.
