Chhandayan Academy of Performing Arts is under the auspices of Chhandayan, a non-profitable non-commercial Public Charitable Trust established in West Bengal, India on 2024. Some of its activities are
1) To carry out acts of education towards advancement of knowledge by offering regular classes, workshops, lecture-demonstrations, seminars, residencies, and other modes of instructional methods on Indian Classical Music and Dance, under different names related to Chhandayan,
2) To carry out acts of education towards advancement of knowledge by accepting and admitting artists, scholars, and students of all nationalities, barring those prohibited by the government of India, from time to time, to the offered courses of degrees and diplomas or regular classes, workshops and seminars on Indian Classical Music and Dance, and beyond,
3) To carry out acts of education towards advancement of knowledge by offering opportunities to research on Indian Classical Music and Dance and beyond, under different names related to Chhandayan, with the authority to be treated, valued, and honored by all other institutions, organizations, and authorities as valid and legitimate,
4) To carry out acts of education towards advancement of knowledge by organizing national and international competitions of Indian Classical Music and Dance, under different names related to Chhandayan, with the authority to be treated, valued, and honored by all other institutions, organizations, and all authorities as valid and legitimate,
5) To carry out acts of education towards advancement of knowledge by issuing certificates, recommendations, and references with the authority to be treated, valued, and honored by all other institutions, organizations, and authorities as valid and legitimate,
6) To organize concerts towards the benefit of the artists and students of Indian Classical Music and Dance, and the community of connoisseurs at large, under different names related to Chhandayan,
7) to help artists and students of Indian Classical Music and Dance with their basic needs, such as supply and maintenance of musical instruments, tuition fees, food, medicine, clothing, media, publicity, promotion, etc., as acts of amelioration,
8) To carry out acts of charity towards advancement of knowledge by offering scholarships and stipends, under different names related to Chhandayan, to talented and financially challenged students and scholars of Indian Classical Music and Dance,
9) To carry out acts of education towards advancement of knowledge by offering courses of degrees and diplomas on Indian Classical Music and Dance, and beyond, under different names related to Chhandayan, with the authority to be treated, valued, and honored by all other institutions, organizations, and authorities as valid and legitimate,
10) To arrange for residential facilities, under different names related to Chhandayan, in the spirit of Gurukul, for the artists, scholars and students, as an act of education towards advancement of knowledge and an act of charity,
11) To carry out acts of charity by helping the needy students of all communities with the necessary resources in their pursuit of knowledge and expertise in Indian Classical Music and Dance,
12) To carry out acts of preservation and promotion by publishing, broadcasting, streaming, distributing original and all works of and on Indian classical music and dance by artists, scholars, and students of music through all medias, such as DVD, CD etc.; to publish books, journals, newsletters, or any other types of reading materials on music and dance, under different names related to Chhandayan, for the purposes of promotion and preservation of Indian classical music and dance,
13) To carry out acts of preservation by maintaining archival library (ies), under different names related to Chhandayan, as resource to the artists, scholars, students and connoisseurs of Indian Classical Music and Dance,
14) To carry out acts of education and advancement of knowledge, establish, manage, and maintain store/s, under different names related to Chhandayan, with the resources and supply of materials, such as musical instruments, accessories, services, reading, viewing, and listening materials towards the study, pursuit and research on Indian classical music and dance by the artists, scholars, students and connoisseurs of Indian Classical Music and Dance,
15) To promote Chhandayan and its activities towards the acts of charity, advancement of knowledge and preservation of the tradition of Indian classical music, under different names related to Chhandayan, by different and all modes of publicity,
16) To carry out acts of charity by arranging free or low-cost medical treatments for the needy artists and students of Indian Classical Music and Dance by qualified medical practitioners,
17) To arrange for service and retirement benefits to artists, scholars, and students of Chhandayan, under different names related to Chhandayan, as acts of charity,
18) To improve the social and cultural life of the artists and students of Indian Classical Music and Dance by organizing various social and cultural events, helping them with the use of social media, devices, technology, and modes of communication,
19) To provide help and support to artists and graduating students towards finding employment in the fields of Indian Classical Music and Dance,
20) To organize self-help groups for musically educated youths,
21) To carry out acts of charity and amelioration, by offering necessary reliefs to the affected artists, scholars, and students of Indian Classical Music and Dance in times of calamities caused by nature or men,
22) To carry out acts of charity and amelioration, by offering necessary funding to artists, scholars, and students of Indian Classical Music and Dance towards fulfillment of family obligations, such as marriage or higher education of a dependent,
23) To do all such other things as may be deemed necessary, incidental, or conclusive to the attainment of the foregoing objects of the Trust.
