Performances in major festivals across 5 continents, lecture-demonstrations and workshops at reputed universities, distinguish his presence in the global cultural arena. International media - including BBC, Voice of America, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, German Radio, Voice of Russia, Indian Radio & Television - have featured Bose in interviews & performances. Carnegie Hall, New York, honored Partha Bose by a CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION for his contribution in the area of mentoring talented students in the traditional art form of Indian Classical Music.
Tabla Legend Pandit Kishen Maharaj acknowledged his virtuosity by accompanying him in a historic concert in Kolkata in 2006.
Recipient of Pandit Nikhil Banerjee Memorial Award, Ustad Bade Gulam Ali Khan Sangitanjaly Excellence Award and titles of Sangeet Ratna and Vadya Shiromoni, Partha Bose was invited by the Government of India to lead a cultural delegation to represent the country in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Independence in Africa.
Having entered the 6th decade of his life, after years of performances, accolades, worldwide travel, Partha Bose holds on to a realization - that, in Music, there's a lesson to be learnt every day.
Samir Chatterjee
Samir Chatterjee is a virtuoso tabla player. He performs and teaches all around the world. He can be heard on numerous recordings as soloist, and with other outstanding musicians from the East and the West. Samir lives in New Jersey and presides over a center for Indian music in midtown Manhattan. Samir teaches at several universities. He performed at the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony. He has also performed several times at the UN General Assembly. His compositions and writings are widely acclaimed. Samir played a significant role in the musical revival in Afghanistan. He is the recipient of a few awards such as the Sunshine Award, Jadu Bhatta Award and Acharya Varistha Award.
