Subhashish Mukhopadhyay

The son of distinguished Tabla player Acharya Shyam Mukhopadhyay and nephew of legendary composer Nachiketa Ghosh, Subhashish Mukhopadhyay was born into a family deeply immersed in music. His training commenced under the illustrious Ustad Muhammad Sagiruddin Khan, followed by Shri Sanjit Majumder and Shri Shyamal Bhattacharya. Eventually, he came under the tutelage of one of the pillars of Indian Classical music, Pandit Manas Chakraborty, whose unique instruction led to Subhashish etching out a position of repute in contemporary music circles. A gold medalist in Masters (2000) from Rabindra Bharati University, he has long held faculty and examiner positions at the same institition. Abroad, he has served as faculty for four years at Pandit Swapan Choudhury's Rupak School of World Music in California and performed several recitals. He has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career and has positioned himself as a lyricist and composer of utmost renown in Kolkata.


Oindrila Roy Mallick

A well-known dancer among the younger generation of Bharatanatyam dancers. Trained initially under late Guru K. P.P Thampi from the age of five. Oindrila honed her dance skills further under Legendary Guru Khagendra Nath Barman, one of the most senior disciples of Guru Rukmini Devi Arundale, Founder of unique “Kalakshetra”Style (Bharataatyam).From 2011 she started leaning under the guidance of Guru Abhoy Pal  of kalamandalam Style. So Oindrla’s dance reflects the cumulative richness of her learning experience. Her passion remains deeply rooted in classical dance. As a Bharatnatyam dancer Oindrila’s Hallmark remains in her ability to captivate her audience by bringing forth the inherent beauty of Bharatanatyam.

Apart from rigorous performance and dance teaching in India and abroad she also teaches in an elementary school. From the year 2011 she has also started touring successfully in European countries like Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, and Holland and earned appreciations from the audience. In Munich she got a standing ovation from the distinguished audience. Her major performances were in Europe in The Tagore Centre, Berlin. DIZG Munich, Peace Palace Hannover, MERU Seelisberg.

Recently she is awarded by the “Chairman’s Award” by International Multicultural
Dance and Music Festival in Pune, India. In 2021 she received “The best Bharatanatyam Dancer” award from Lions club Chennai. She also holds a master’s degree in Bharatanatyam from Rabindra Bharati University and got the distinction.

Oindrila is also a good teacher and teaches in her dance school “SHABDAM Dance and Music Academy”, where students were enrolled and learning Folk and Classical dance (Bharatanatyam) from her and some of them also performing regularly Oindrila has won plaudits from audiences and critics alike for her dance. Her recent performance with her group was highly appreciated by audience and critics in ’’Basant Utsav”. Her major performances in India are 2018 Cultivation of Science Jadavpur, Music festival organised by Dhwani, Chhandayan Music and Dance festival Kolkata.


Sandip Chatterjee

andip Chatterjee, a disciple of Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya and vocal maestro Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, is an accomplished Santoor player of the current generation. He has been heralded as the torch bearer of both the Maihar and Pattala gharanas.

With his magical strokes over strings, he makes his unique melody speak. A deep rooted musical exploration has helped him develop a unique and dynamic technique to playing his instrument, where he uses his left hand to lift the strings (Plucking Chikari) to play the Alap, Jod Jhalla, part of bandish (Gat) thereby creating an ineffable resonance.

Sandip has been extensively performing in many music festivals and concerts all around the globe. And, he has also collaborated with many overseas musicians across genres such as Jazz, Rock, Contemporary,Fusion and World Music .

His collaborations in ‘Calcutta Express’ with famous Jazz Guitarist Guy Strazz; ‘Shanti’ with famous Saxophonist Claudio Gigilio and afro-Cuban percussionist Fulvio Farkas; ‘Emotion’ with Swedish Jazz saxophonist Elin Larsson; ‘Feelings’ with contemporary guitar player Giuliano Modarelli have been very much acclaimed in Jazz & contemporary world music genre. The collaboration ‘Calcutta Express’ has been nominated as finalist in the Indo Acoustic Project’s “Best CD’s of 2006” award in the World Music category.

The musical talent and virtuosity exhibited by Sandip over the years have been noted through his albums which range upto 21 in number. His expertise has also been utilised by renowned music directors like A.R.Rehman, Jatin Lalit, Gulshan Kumar, Rabindra Jain, Pt.V.Balsara etc.

His ethnic aesthetics had also won him many awards and laurels such as, “President of India Award”, “Jadubhatta Award”, “Sangeeth Ratna Award”, “ Abhinaba Kala Sanman” etc.

Through his dauntless efforts he is still trying to create a magic spell by letting his music reverberate and keeping the music lovers enthralled.


Piu Mukherjee

Piu Mukherjee was born in Howrah, West Bengal. She took her first strides towards the arena of music holding the able hands of her Mother Smt. Pradipta Mukherjee and her grandfather Late Bireswar Mukherjee, who himself was a disciple of Sangeet Samrat Vishmadev Chatterjee.


Later she was guided on the melodious pathway of music by Prof. Nihar Ranjan Bandopadhyay, the former Head of the Department of vocal music at the Rabindra Bharati University. Soon, she received attention and guidance from the eminent Sangeet Samragnyee Padmabibhushan Smt. Girija Devi under whom she did her rigorous Riyaaz (daily practice).


Apart from being adjudged the First Class First in M.A. (Vocal Music) from Rabindra Bharati University she has also completed her Post Graduation in Islamic History & Culture and B.Ed. from University of Calcutta. 

Within a very short span of time her dedication and talent were recognized in numerous professional performance arena where she was adjudged the best Vocalist in Khayal & Thumri. These include Pashchim Banga Rajya Sangeet Academy, Salt Lake Cultural Association, Pt. Ravi Kichlu Foundation, Dover Lane, and many other distinguished platforms. She won the Pt. Krishna Kumar Ganguly (Natu Babu) Award for Kheyal in 1999 which was soon followed by her being placed 1st in Thumri / Dadra / Tappa in All India Radio Competition. In 2001 she proved her determination once again by winning the National Scholarship from Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Govt of India. In 2017 she has been awarded by Girija Devi Puraskar (Vikshit Kalakar) in All India Puravang Gayaki Utsav, New Delhi.


Anirban Chakraborty

Anirban Chakrabarty hails from a family of Musicians. His father, Amal Chakrabarty is a dedicated vocalist. From his very childhood Anirban was initiated to Hindustani Classical Music by his father. He is a post graduate in music with first class from the Rabindra Bharati University. Although he is a good vocalist, his keen interest in playing Harmonium have driven him under the tutelage of Pandit Manas Chakraborty, the doyen of Kotali Gharana to master himself in the gayaki of Kotali style. He has also keen interest in composing music in lighter forms. The guidance of the Master Musician has already shaped him in well organized Harmonium player, and hoping him to be a musician of high repute in future.

Anirban has to his credit a number of brilliant performances as a harmonium accompanist throughout the country with both upcoming and reputed musicians. Anirban has accompanied musicians of repute like Pandit Manas Chakraborty, Pandit Dinanath Mishra, Pandit Arun Bhaduri, Smt. Kankana Banerjee, Gaan Saraswati Shreela Bandopadhyay, Pandit Madhup Mudgal, Sri. Sarathi Chatterjee, Smt. Ruchira Panda, Sri. Subhasish Mukherjee, Smt. Raka Mukherjee, Sri. Ratan Mohan Sharma and many more.

He is also a regular artist of several television channels. Besides, he is equally adept in playing tabla, keyboard, guitar and also worked as an arranger for several light music album. Recently popular commercial artists like Indrani Sen, Manomay Bhattacharya, Shampa Kundu, Shubhankar Bhaskar, Sahaj Ma have jointly made album of Modern Bengali Songs and devotional Songs composed and arranged by Anirban. Recently an album of Poetry and songs of TAGORE of Sri Tarun Chakrabarty has been released, arranged by Anirban. Now Anirban is also working as the Lecturer of Music in ‘Vivekananda Teachers Training Institute’ and also as the General Secretary of ‘Sur Sanchayan Sangeet Vidyalaya’, an institute to uphold the diploma courses of various forms of Indian music. Anirban to his credit has accompanied on harmonium with both upcoming and veteran musicians in all major music festivals of our country. He has also visited UK and USA as a harmonium accompanist with Ruchira Panda and earned accolades both from music lovers and connoisseurs.


Indranil Mallick

Indranil Mallick, a promising tabla player of rare skill, has already established himself both as a soloist and accompanist. Born to a family of genuine music connoisseurs, he received his initial training in tabla when he was only five from his uncle, Sri Montu Mallick. Later he was trained by Prof. Dhabol Bandyapadhaya.From 1985 he was under the guidance of Sri Uttam Chakraborty, senior disciple of Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri.Now he is under the guidance of Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri . Indranil belongs to Luckhnow Gharana style of tabla.

Among his numerous awards and distinctions in tabla performance he stood first in the Yuva Utsav organized by the state Government of West Bengal. In 1997 he stood first in the prestigious Dover Lane Music Competition and earned "The Best Talent Of The Year" for 1996-97, trophy awarded by the H.M.V Music Corporation. Indranil holds a "Sangeet Visarad", Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music focused on tabla, from the University of Chandigarh, which he earned in 1999.He also earned " Sangeet Kala Ratna" in the year 2006.

Keeping a rigorous performance schedule, Indranil continues to perform with renowned artists in various music conferences in India and abroad. Some of these are The Dover Lane Music Conference in Kolkata, West Bengal State Music Academy Annual Convocation Concert, "The GolPark Rama Krishna Mission" Kolkata, Annual Conference of Spicmacay in AgartalaSangeet Gana Sabha in Visaka Pattanam, Spicmacay tour in Madhya Pradesh, Dadar Matunga Music conference, Mumbai (A Hundred years music organisatin), Baba Alauddin Khan Sangeet Samaraho, Maihar,Santipur Sangeet Sammelan, Kolkata, Nabarang Sangeet Sammelan, Kolkata, Kerala Music Festival, Music Festival in Patna and others….

In 2002 Indranil began international touring with performances in Europe, USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Switzerland , Ukraine , Estonia, Russia, Austria and Holland. During these tours he represented India in many world renowned festivals. Some examples include the Open Baroque Festival in Estonia, The Musica Sacra International Festival in Germany, and the International Jazz and Blues festival in Austria.

Indranil is a grade 'A' artist of All India Radio, Kolkata where he is featured regularly on programs aired throughout India. He holds a Master Degree in Economics from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.


Mayookh Bhaumik

Mayookh Bhaumik was born on November 14, 1977, in New Jersey. He began performing on television, radio, and various stages from the age of five. He was acknowledged as a child prodigy by Ali Akbar Khan in 1981 at the age of four. At seven, he won the “NY State Under 18 Science Award” for creating an original string instrument.

Mayookh returned to India to train under Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh and later from Ustad Sabir Khan of the Farukhabad Gharana. He also studies with Kathak legend, Padmabhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj. He is presently under the able tutelage of Pandit Kumar Bose of the Benares Gharana.

Mayookh entered the music industry very early and was a recording studio musician at the age of twelve. He has played with various artistes of global repute including Ustad Vilayat Khan, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit V. G. Jog, Pandit Manilal Nag, Pandit Ramesh Misra, Tarun Bhattacharya, Niladri Kumar, Pratyush Banerjee, Arnab Chakraborty, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Farukh Fateh Ali Khan, Snehashish Mozumder, Jean Michel Pilc, and Ustad Sabir Khan.

He is featured on over fifteen released and internationally marketed albums including his solo album “The Beginning” on Gathani Records and with Pandit V.G. Jog, Smt. Purnima Chaudhari, Ustad Sabir Khan, Pandit Ramesh Misra. Mayookh has worked on film music in India and the United States as a composer and recording artist.


Sandip Ghosh

 Sandip Ghosh is a talented young upcoming tabla player. He was born in a musical of Kolkata and was initiated in Tabla by his supportive parents at the age of six. He started his career as a student under the tutelage of Pt.Gobindo Bose and continued for nine years. Sandip then met Pt.Anindo Chatterjee and has been taking talim under his keen supervision of him until today.

He has specialised in the superb style of "Farukhabad" baaj and also gained extensive talim of all other style of playing under the able guidance of Pt.Anindo Chatterjee.

Beside his Tabla Gurus, Sandip has got the rare opportunity to have accompaniment and overall musical guidance from Guru Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty and Vidushi Kaushiki Chakraborty in the fields of Instrumental, Vocal, and Dance.

He has performed all over the world in several prestigious festivals and accompanied many great artists, among them Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty, Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Pt. Ramesh Mishra, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Shujaat Khan, Pt.Ulhas Kashalkar, Ustad Rashid Khan, Pt. Kushal Das, Pt.Tejendra Narayan Majumder, Vidushi Kaushiki Chakraborty, Shri Partha Sarathy Desikan, Pt.Debojyoti Bose, Pt. Ranajit Sengupta, Pt. Purbayan Chatterjee, Pt. Rakesh Chowrasia, Shri Snehashish Mozumder, Pt.Sohanlal Sharma, and Pt. Praveen Godkhindiand. His enchanting accompaniment has been hailed by both the artists and audience.

Sandip has received many awards, among them the President's Award, the Academy Puroskar, the Rajya Sangeet Academy Competitions, and the Dover Lane Music Competition. He is a "National Scholar" from the ministry of India and twice "Gold Medalist" in the "South Asian Universities Festival". He rated as a B high Grade Artist of All India Radio & TV and is an empanelled artist of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

Moreover, he got the rare and precious opportunity to play several duets with his legendary guru, the great tabla maestro Pt.Anindo Chatterjee.

He also works successfully with "Kyabaat", "Anouraag", "Asa", “Ragas & Blossoms”, “Classicool” & "You & Me" band in Europe and with "Big-Band Orchestra" of the "Hamburg Music University". He also took part in world music festival and worked for several films.
