Supratik Sengupta
Supratik Sengupta was born in 1981 into a family of musicians in Kolkata. He got his early training from his father Sri. Kuber Sen Gupta. He began his formal training under Sri. Biswanath Das and Pt. Debaprasad Chakraborty. After that he was under the guidance of Sangeetacharya Late Ajoy Sinha Roy and Dr. Pradeep Chakraborty. Supratik joined the ITC Sangeet Research Academy (ITC SRA) in the year 2002 and became a musician/scholar under the tutelage of Padmabhushan Pandit Buddhadeb Das Gupta and Partha Pratim Chatterjee, the Guru of the instrumental division of the Academy. After leaving ITC SRA he is now taking talim from Padmabhushan Pandit Buddhadeb Das Gupta.
Achievements:- Supratik stood first in many prestigious music competitions such as “The Dover Lane Music Competition, “Swar Prabhat Talent Search Contest” and West Bengal State Music Competition. He also stood First in the performances conducted by "Bharatiya Sanskriti Parishad". He was conferred the Best Instrumentalist Prize from “The Dover Lane Music Conference”, Prasun Banerjee Memorial Award and Pandit Gokul Nag Memorial Award from “The Salt Lake Music Festival”. Supratik proved himself as the National Scholar of CCRT (Center for Cultural Resources & Training) of New Delhi. He was also the holder of National Scholarship of "Ministry Of Tourism & Culture, Govt. Of India”. He is an A Grade Artist of All India Radio and Television.
Supratik toured Paris, Germany successfully with ITC SRA. He participated in many major Music Conferences all over India conducted by ITC SRA. He is visiting in different countries of Europe and Bangladesh regularly for concert. Recently he has visited China.
He fortunate to give performance in several concerts accompanied by renowned tabla players like Pandit Ananda Gopal Bandopadhyay, Pandit Samar Saha and Pandit Gopal Mishra. Recently he got the opportunity of participating in the concert organised by “SPIC MACAY” at Rajasthan.
Kasturi Bandopadhya
Kasturi is the daughter of Internationally Renowned Tabla Maestro Pandit Ananda Gopal Bandopadhyay of the Benaras Gharana. She was initiated into music by her mother Smt.Rekha Bandopadhyay at the age of four. After that she started taking talim from Vidushi Smt.Subhra Guha. She was also fortunate enough to receive talim for a couple of years under the Legendary Guru Pandit K.G.Ginde. After his sudden demise, she studied with Pandit Arun Bhaduri in Khayal and at the same time started learning Thumri and Dadra from Vidushi Smt.Purnima Chaudhuri. After getting a Scholarship at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, she also started learning Upa-Shastriya Sangeet from Vidushi Smt.Girija Devi under whom she is continuing her talim till today.
From her early childhood,it has been noticed that Kasturi is highly talented and has an excellent sense in Music. Gifted with a flexible and melodious voice, she has charmed audiences wherever she has performed. She has proved her versatility in Khayal, Thumri, Dadra,and Light Music.
Kasturi has performed in front of Great Legendary Exponents Of Hindusthani Classical Music such as the Late Pt.Kishan Maharaj, Ustad Zakir Hussain, the Late Ustad Sultan Khan, Pt.Bhimsen Joshi, Pt.Ajoy Chakraborty, andUstad Rashid Khan.
Kasturi always keeps an eye on the Purity of a Raga and the development of Gayaki. She especially excels in Thumri, Dadra and other forms of Upa-Shastriya Sangeet.
Monir Hossain
Monir has established himself as a dynamic tabla performer both as a solo and as an able accompanist with numerous prestigious performances to his credit.
He was born in a musical family, son of Ustad Hafiz Hossain and grandson of late Ustad Kader Bux of Murshidabad, West Bengal. He is a senior disciple of Tabla Maestro Pandit Samar Saha.
Some of his notable performances are with Sarod Maestro Pt. Budhadev Das Gupta, Legendary (Late) Ustad Villayet Khan, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee, Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, Lakshmi Shankar, Ustad Fateh Ali khan, Pandit Rajiv Taranath, recently with sitar Maestro Ustad Shahid Parvez and numerous other musicians.
Some of the major vanues include the Simthsonian Institution, Washington Conservatory of Music (WCM), Toranto Public Library, Colombia University, University of Alabama, Statson University, University of Maryland (UMBC) and numerous other prestigious venues. Monir also performed tabla solo in Berhampore, West Bengal, India on the occassion of his Grandfather (Late) Ustad Kader Buksh's birthday. Some of the noteworthy vocal performers from Pakistan and Bangladesh that he has performed with include Pakistan's Pop sensation Alamgir, Shahanaj Rahmatullah, Sabiha Mahboob and Fatema Tuz-zuhrah among many others.
