A student of Ustad Bahauddin Dagar and Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar, Sunita Amin has been learning Dhrupad for the past 12 years. She is known for her performances and specializes in Raagdhari, Layakari and Naad Bhed. Her pratham guru is Ustad Bahauddin Dagar and at his request she began learning with Ustad Zia Faiduddin Dagar at Dhrupad Sansar, IIT, Mumbai. She studied intensively with Ustad Bahauddin Dagar at Dhrupad Gurukul set up by him at The Valley School, KFI, Bangalore for a year. She has been practising regularly with Shri Sanjay Agle for the past five years. Sunita has been performing all over india with concerts in Ahmedabad, Pondicherry, Chennai, Patiala, Chandigarh and for three years taught students in Chennai. She also conducts residential workshops for children in schools as she believes that children are the future of Dhrupad. Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar before his demise this year laid the foundation of Vishwa Dhrupad Gurukul on Sunita’s land in Jaipur. He strongly believed that his gurukul should be situated in a home. After his demise the gurukul will now function under the guidance of Ustad Bahauddin Dagar. The Vishwa Dhrupad Gurukul conducts classes and workshops in Dhrupad and has recently announced 3 scholarships to encourage students deeply interested in Dhrupad. She has initiated teaching of Dhrupad in Government Schools in Rajasthan.
Jashon Singh

Jashon Singh, born and raised in New York, started developing a deep love and connection with music when he was a child. Originally influenced by the traditional folk music of Punjab, Jashon later became enticed with Shastriya and Gurmat Sangeet and started learning tabla from Jagjit Singh at the age of 10. During the course of his initial musical education, he travelled extensively to spend time with some great masters such as Sukhwinder Singh and Pt. Anindo Chatterjee, and currently studies Tabla and Jori Pakhawaj under Surdarshan Singh of the Punjab and Benares Gharanas. He is pursing a career in finance and product development in New York City and is an avid aficionado of art and history of Northern India and the Middle East.
